Welcome to Chapel Down
As the quality of our wines increases so too does our reputation, both nationally and internationally. As a result, demand for our wine grows every year and as a young company we are fortunate enough to be able to adapt. One of the recent developments here is that we are constantly looking to source grapes from more vineyards. We currently source from 180 acres all over the South East of England and are on course to increase this to 1000 acres by 2010. One of the most significant developments we have made recently is to grub up
some of the more unusual, Germanic grape varieties like Reichensteiner and Seyval
Blanc and plant up more premium, French varieties like Chardonnay and Pinot
Noir. We are also encouraging our growers to do the same following the success
we have had with these varieties at our own vineyard in Tenterden. With this
new direction, we have also taken the opportunity to rebrand the majority of
our still wines from ‘Curious Grape’ to ‘Chapel Down’,
bringing them in line with our range of sparkling wines.
