Chapel Down - What's Happening
Curious Brew Brut - "Putting real fizz into beer" Curious Brew Brut is a truly premium brewed lager beer. Brewed using highest quality East Anglian Malt and Cascade and Saaz hops, the beer undergoes a secondary fermentation using specially selected sparkling wine yeast. This process adds complexity, body, aroma and a soft finish on the palate not found in other premium lagers. A much longer brewing cycle gives this beer a dry distinctiveness and quality unmatched in other lager beers. When serving Curious Brew Brut we recommend a fluted glass to preserve the delicate bubbles in this exceptional beer. Curious Brew Cobb IPA - "A hymn to the hop" Cobb is a Kentish hop variety that is well-known for its aromatic qualities. Once widely planted it is now increasingly rare. For this ale our winemaker has selected to use only this single variety of hops in order to capture and preserve its particular characteristics. The beer is hopped at four different stages of the brewing process to get the full spectrum of aroma and flavour available from this noble hop variety. Cobb IPA is best served in a tapered, schooner style of glass, which helps concentrate the aromas so that you can appreciate the beer on the nose as well as the palate. Curious Brew Admiral Porter - "Oak-matured black magic" This rich, dark Porter has been brewed using crystal, chocolate, black and amber malts from floor malted Sussex barley. The 'bittering' hop is the Sussex grown Admiral, which gives the beer its name. The winemaker's twist is to ferment and condition the beer with oak, giving a delicate balance of sweetness and bitterness, full depth of flavour and creamy vanilla notes. The ideal glass for appreciating the Admiral Porter at its best is a low goblet. As the porter is bottle-conditioned it does produce a sustained, coffee-coloured head which this wide-topped but slightly tapered glass helps to retain. All three beers retail for £1.49 a bottle or £29.99 for a case of 24 and can be ordered on line in the shop section of our website or by calling the sales office on 01580 763033.
