Elvey Farm - stylish Guesthouse accommodation in the Heart of Kent
Elvey Farm is a traditional open hall house, built in 1406, and it's certainly had a colourful history. French prisoners were kept here during the Napoleonic wars, and it's believed the house was used to hide Lord Dering before his capture by the roundheads during the Civil War.

In the Second World War, a Spitfire crashed into the paddock at the back of the farm, during the Battle of Britain.

For centuries, the farm consisted of 75 acres, used to farm cereal crops and sheep. But in the 1970s, the previous owners converted a sixteenth century barn and Stable Block into guest accommodation.

In January 2007, current owners Jeff Moody and Simon Peek bought the property, along with six acres - and have renovated the guest accommodation, to create the standard of a stylish boutique hotel, with the informality of a small guest house.
